Bad Payers List is a monthly record of overdue debtors, as notified by FMO members. Participating FMO members will receive the current information each month.

FMO Focus Groups:

Any member can attend twice yearly General Meetings where as well as providing an unparalleled networking opportunity, these three groups promote and protect the interests of each respective area of manufacturing.

The Equipment Focus Group promotes and protects the interests of those involved in the manufacture, importation and distribution of optical instruments, machinery, equipment and supplies while also setting and maintaining industry specific standards.

The Frames Focus Group promotes and protects the interests of frame manufacturers and importers. Extensive experience, both within the UK and global markets, is widely recognised by new entrants and long established companies within the sector.

The Lens Focus Group promotes and protects the interests of distributors and manufacturers of ophthalmic lenses and the assembly of spectacles. Its key objective is to maintain the highest possible standard of prescription house glazing work and ophthalmic lens production.

FMO Members’ Logo, available for download from this website, represents the FMO brand which aims to project an organisation that; encourages and informs of innovation; provides support to members throughout the network; and empowers the growth of people and organisations within the FMO family. The logo comprises the three subdivisions that make up the FMO (Equipment, Frames and Lenses).

FMO Newsletter is sent to all members.

FMO Website provides information on forthcoming events and industry specific meetings, information on FMO Directors and Focus Groups, Members Area and Directory, links to download FMO documents, minutes, newsletters and membership logo.

Optrafair discount reduces the rate for stands at the Birmingham showcase exhibition and conferences (subject to a qualifying period).

Standards Panel of experienced professionals, who work closely with BSI, and its European and global counterparts. This group reviews, examines and promotes vital standards relating to the technical aspects of optical appliances in both performance and safety issues.

British Optical Standards are available at a discounted rate of 15% for FMO members.

Buying Support Agency - The BSA Buying Group can provide members with quick and free access to significant indirect cost savings thanks to their buying power and purchasing expertise. Particular strengths are utilities, stationery & office supplies, telecoms and also offered is print and packaging, workwear, cleaning supplies, waste recycling, business rates and staff expenses management. The BSA have also just launched a new travel booking service; it has negotiated discounts which now make travel booking economically viable for even the smallest companies. Training Courses are held at reduced rates for FMO members. The FMO works closely with The Worshipful Company of Spectacle Makers and is committed to monitor and listen to its members as to the skills and qualifications required to meet their needs.

London Office  - FMO's Paddington location provides members with a prestigious London office at 199 Gloucester Terrace, with a boardroom suitable for meetings of up to 10 and a lecture theatre with AV facilities for larger gatherings. Subject to availability, the boardroom may be booked completely free of charge.  Meals and refreshments can be provided at an additional cost.
