1-3 April 2017
Optrafair is brought to you by the Federation of Manufacturing Opticians and Optician, combining two of the most respected organisations serving the optical market. This visionary national show is a great opportunity to catch up on the latest in optics, renew friendships and seek out new suppliers.
The largest continuing education event for optical professionals, it has the lecture theatre at the heart of the National Exhibition Centre show in Birmingham and attracts thousands of visitors.
Close associations with all of the professional bodies and optical journals, plus support for the leading vision charities, ensures that it is all embracing, and a not to be missed event. Optician uses Optrafair to host its annual awards at a glittering gala dinner during the three day event, so there is plenty of fun too!
Practices use Optrafair as an opportunity to refresh their businesses –learning more about new lens technologies; seeing the latest frame styles from around the world, exploring the potential of multifocal contact lenses, or trying out a new IT system. They might also use the focused time away from the practice to consider OCT or fundus imaging, or whether an in-house lab is an option. With all of the major players at Optrafair visitors are free to trial equipment and compare and contrast what they have to offer.
Tax advice and financial planning, stepping up direct debiting and patient payment schemes, are all important aspects that are embraced by the show. Most importantly all of the profits made by the Federation of Manufacturing Opticians from Optrafair are rolled back into the UK optical industry with generous donations to many of the major charities besides the running costs of The FMO.
